Eligibility/Qualification:
Education: A PhD or equivalent experience in engineering, the physical sciences, or applied math.
Experience:
- Significant experience with mathematical modeling of physical or chemical systems with coupled processes.
- Experience modeling battery performance, degradation, and/or other behaviors.
- Strong publication record demonstrating originality, technical depth, and the ability to conduct research independently and as part of a team.
Job Description:
Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The successful candidate will play leading technical roles in an ARPA-E project focused on electrochemical modeling of high-energy cells. Responsibilities include developing detailed physics- and chemistry-based transient mathematical models for cell charge and discharge processes, contributing to the design of experiments, and collaborating within the Albertus research group.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: PhD or equivalent.
- Experience: Significant experience in mathematical modeling and battery performance modeling.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Effective written and oral communication skills.
Preferences: Applicants do not need to be US citizens. The start date is flexible, with a goal of Summer to early Fall, 2024.
