This position is dedicated to the development, characterization, and application of innovative self-sensing concrete with self-healing capabilities through the integration of smart technologies.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
- Experience in developing and characterizing sensors for construction materials.
- Proficiency in conducting electrical resistivity measurements and performing advanced data analysis using Matlab or Python.
- Familiarity with large-scale concrete testing, modeling, and simulation (e.g., using COMSOL or Abaqus) is preferred.
- Knowledge of AC impedance spectroscopy, electro-mechanical impedance, wave propagation, and vibro-acoustics is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Job Description:
The successful applicant will engage in the following key areas:
- Design and assess the performance of self-sensing cementitious materials with high sensitivity, temperature resistance, and durability.
- Develop structural health-monitoring networks aimed at the oil and gas industry.
- Innovate self-healing cementitious materials using chemical and/or bio-mineralization techniques.
- Synthesize research findings to formulate and evaluate the performance of self-sensing and self-healing composites.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of research scientists and students.
