- Required Knowledge/Skills: Expertise in materials synthesis, inorganic chemistry, solid-state and solvothermal thermochemistry, powder processing, materials characterization, and nanomaterials.
- Physical Demands: Must be physically fit to assemble heavy reactors, operate equipment under pressure, handle electronic circuits, and safely work with dangerous materials.
Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for organizational and strategic planning, diagnosing problems, and reporting high-quality research results to the principal investigator. Key duties include:
- 25%: Metal nitride synthesis
- 25%: Reaction product characterization
- 20%: Setting up, fixing, and operating equipment (e.g., Solvothermal/hydrothermal reactors, FTIR-DRIFTS, XPS, XRD, Rutherford backscattering, ICP-OES)
- 20%: Writing journal papers and patents
- 10%: Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
