Post-Doctoral Associate – Z Song: The University of Georgia is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Post-Doctoral Associate to join the Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) Lab within the Department of Horticulture. This position focuses on cutting-edge research in the development of high-throughput and high-precision plant phenotyping systems for applications such as automated vertical farming, plant breeding, and plant protection.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Education: Ph.D. in Mechanical/Agricultural/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Horticulture, or related fields with significant research experience.
- Experience: Minimum of three first-author peer-reviewed journal publications in related fields.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in computer programming (Python, MATLAB, C++, etc.)
- Experience in CAD 3D modeling, image processing, computer vision, and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge in plant science/physiology, especially in crop management within CEA.
- Experience in grant writing and making presentations at national/international conferences.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral.
Job Description:
- Develop and lead research programs aligned with the lab’s mission and ongoing projects.
- Prepare and publish research manuscripts and contribute to grant proposal development.
- Collaborate on multiple college or university-funded projects and cooperative research initiatives.
- Mentor and supervise graduate research assistants in their research activities.
