Scholarship Description
The successful candidate will join a leading research group focused on understanding how voltage-gated calcium channels in the brain influence the pathophysiology of bipolar disorder. This role involves designing and conducting molecular neurobiological experiments using advanced techniques such as Nanopore long-read RNA sequencing, PCR, BaseScope, immunocytochemistry, biochemical assays, and cell culture and transfection. Collaboration with other group members and contributing to data analysis and curation are essential components of the position.
Eligibility
- A PhD (or near completion) in molecular or cellular biology, or a related scientific area.
- Experience working with RNA from cells and/or tissues, including adaptation and optimization of protocols.
- Strong language and communication skills, with the ability to write for publication and present research findings.
- Desirable experience in the neurobiology of psychiatric or neurological disorders, cell culture, and pharmacological/biochemical methods.
