Post-Doctoral Fellow: We are seeking applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Fire Research, focusing on Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) fires. This role will be under the leadership of Prof. James L. Urban in the Department of Fire Protection Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), as part of the Wildfire Interdisciplinary Research Center.

Eligibility/Qualification
- Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related STEM field.
- Background in fluid mechanics, combustion, fire, or heat transfer.
- Strong foundation in thermal fluids.
- Desired/Optional Qualifications:
- Experience with computational fire modeling software (e.g., Fire Dynamics Simulator, FireFOAM).
- Prior experimental research experience.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., bash, python, slurm).
- Knowledge of imaging analysis and/or computer vision is a plus.
Job Description
The Post-Doctoral Fellow will be responsible for:
- Leading computational modeling of WUI fire exposure.
- Assisting and contributing to small- and large-scale experimental research in fire protection.
