The fellow will contribute to a funded research project on measuring environmental outcomes of different rice production practices, focusing on soil impacts on grain arsenic dynamics and greenhouse gas emissions. Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in relevant disciplines conferred by the start of employment.
- Experience with chamber flux techniques, micrometeorological datasets, remote sensing, or modeling of biogeochemical processes.
- Computer skills in python, R, Matlab, or related language.
Description: The Post-Doctoral Fellow will manage day-to-day data collection tasks, coordinate project participants, and create papers and outreach materials. Field visits may include irrigated and non-irrigated agricultural fields in Arkansas and other states. The research involves investigating the impacts of land cover and management practices on biophysical properties, carbon uptake, and greenhouse gas emissions. The fellow will collaborate with scientists from various institutions, contributing to adjacent activities in soil-arsenic research or climate-smart commodity and sustainability development.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in relevant field.
- Experience in chamber flux techniques, micrometeorological datasets, remote sensing, or biogeochemical process modeling.
- Computer skills in python, R, Matlab, or related language.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong scientific communication skills (publications, conference presentations).
- Willingness to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with environmental data management.
Additional Information: The position is renewable annually based on continued need, funding availability, and satisfactory performance.
Salary Information: $52,000
