Post-Doctoral Fellow for Disease Risk: The Cyprus Institute is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to join its Climate and Atmosphere Research Centre (CARE-C). The successful candidate will contribute to the Climate-Driven Vector-Borne Disease Risk Assessment (VEClim) project, focusing on developing a web-based decision support platform to aid in preventing outbreaks of vector-borne infectious diseases.

Eligibility/Qualification | – PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Epidemiology, or related field. – Experience in scientific scripting and programming languages (R, Python, Julia, or C/C++). – Good command of the Linux operating system. – Understanding of biological, ecological, and mathematical concepts. |
Preferred Qualifications | – Experience working in HPC environments. – Software development experience (desktop/mobile applications, front/back-end development). – Familiarity with complex computer modelling systems. |

Job Description
The selected candidate will join a research team working on various tasks related to vector-borne diseases, including:
- Development of the VEClim Platform and climate-sensitive vector population and disease transmission models.
- Conducting scientific research and engaging in the development of environmental variables and vector surveillance databases.
