Post-Doctoral Fellow in Atmospheric Sciences: The Cyprus Institute (CyI) invites applications for the position of a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Atmospheric Sciences within the Climate and Atmosphere Research Centre (CARE-C). The successful candidate will contribute to the EU-H2020 “EMME-CARE” project, focusing on the role of trace gases in the air quality of the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East (EMME) region. This is a unique opportunity to explore atmospheric processes and environmental observations in a highly diverse and less-studied region.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Atmospheric or Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or a related field
- Authored/co-authored at least three peer-reviewed publications
- Hands-on experience in Mass Spectrometry or Gas Chromatography
- Good programming skills (Python, Matlab, R)
- 3-year experience including PhD studies
- Participation in field campaigns
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of English, both verbal and written
- High interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Willingness to travel and participate in educational programs
Job Description: The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will be responsible for the operation of a Proton Transfer Reaction – Time of Flight – Mass Spectrometer (PTR-ToF-MS) in the laboratory and in the field. The role involves the analysis of complex datasets, research on emissions and atmospheric chemistry of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), and active participation in regional and international networking. The candidate will also contribute to publications, supervise Research Assistants and students, and engage in field campaigns.
