Post-Doctoral Fellow in Biosphere: Lund University, Faculty of Science, Centre for Environmental and Climate Science, is seeking a highly qualified Post-Doctoral Fellow to join their research team. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a project focused on understanding the impact of weather events and climate on carbon fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems. The research will involve analyzing rain-induced carbon fluxes using eddy-covariance techniques and improving quantification methods for their contribution to ecosystem carbon budgets. The successful candidate will work closely with the research environment BECC (Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in a Changing Climate) and will have the chance to supervise degree/master/PhD projects, actively seek external research funding, and engage in teaching activities.
Designation: Post-Doctoral Fellow
Research Area: Biosphere-Atmosphere Interactions
Location: Lund University, Faculty of Science, Centre for Environmental and Climate Science, Lund, Sweden
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in environment-related fields or a related international degree.
- In-depth and substantiated experience in measurements and analyses of greenhouse gas data using eddy-covariance techniques, including flux-partitioning algorithms
- Some experience in measurements and analyses of data using chamber techniques
- Proficiency in handling large datasets
- Knowledge of terrestrial ecosystems and soil science
- Advanced programming skills in Python, R, or MATLAB
- Ability to develop and conduct independent high-quality research
- Publications in international peer-reviewed journals (leading role)
- Excellent oral and written proficiency in English
Job Description: The Post-Doctoral Fellow will be responsible for:
