Postdoctoral Researcher Position in University

Post-doctoral Fellow in Cancer Metabolism: The Meiser lab in the Department of Cancer Research is actively seeking a dedicated Post-doctoral Fellow in Cancer Metabolism, funded by the ERC CoG program. The position is based in Luxembourg, with an envisaged start date of May 2024.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Successful PhD in the area of biology.
  • Knowledge and keen interest in mammalian metabolism.
  • Hands-on experience in animal work and experimental lab techniques (cytometry, Western Blot, etc.).
  • Experience with 3D models may be advantageous.
  • Open-minded, self-driven, and curious individual, willing to collaborate in a team.

Job Description:

The project focuses on the identification of mechanisms relaying the oncogenic effect of formate, an important nutrient supporting cancer cell metabolism. Experimental work involves in vivo (mouse) models, state-of-the-art stable isotope-assisted metabolomics techniques, and analyses of a patient tissue collection. The successful candidate will be part of the Meiser lab, working collaboratively with a team of researchers and utilizing advanced laboratory facilities.
