Job Description
The Post Doctoral Fellow will be responsible for:
- Leading and designing experiments in consultation with Prof. Huff.
- STM/AFM fabrication and characterization of atomically precise structures or molecules.
- Conducting TERS investigations of molecules on metals.
- Collaborating with coworkers and industry/academic partners to achieve research goals.
- Setting research directions and assisting in establishing research methods and standards.
- Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
- Preparing and presenting research papers, presentations, and publications.
- Maintaining and modifying UHV SPM systems and hardware.
Eligibility/Qualification
- A strong background in surface science, cryogenic measurements, atomically resolved scanning probe microscopy techniques (STM/AFM), and ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems.
- Experience in tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS), quantum colour centre characterization, AFM or optically based charge dynamics measurements, or ultra-fast optics is highly valued.
- Familiarity with programming, specifically in Python and LabVIEW.
- Strong collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills.
