Post Doctoral Fellow Positions at Neurophysiology Laboratory, University of Cagliari, Italy

Fully Funded PhD Positions in Scuola Normale Superiore, Italy

Post Doctoral Fellow Positions at Neurophysiology: The Neurophysiology Laboratory at the University of Cagliari is inviting applications for two Post Doctoral Fellow positions. The project’s goal is to study how environmental factors affect the development of the brain in offspring. We will specifically focus on understanding how problems with the way dopamine neural circuits are organized can lead to issues with brain function. The positions involve the analysis of single-cell neuronal activity using ex-vivo electrophysiology and behavior, along with the latest optogenetic and chemogenetic approaches to manipulate neuronal circuits.

Designation: Post Doctoral Fellows

Research Area: Neurophysiology, Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Pharmacology

Location: University of Cagliari, Cagliari, Italy

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Neuroscience (Neurobiology or Pharmacology)
  • Strong motivation and ability to work in a team
  • Demonstrated track record of publications in international scientific journals
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Job Description:

The selected candidates will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Analyzing single-cell neuronal activity using ex-vivo electrophysiology techniques
  • Studying synaptic plasticity and signal processing in the context of brain development
  • Conducting whole-cell patch clamp recordings
  • Handling and caring for laboratory animals (certified by an accredited course)
  • Analyzing rodent behavior (experience is advantageous)
  • Interpreting data and communicating research findings effectively

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should submit the following documents as a single PDF file to Miriam Melis at myriam@unicait:
