Post-Doctoral Position at KFUPM: A postdoc position is open at CPG femtosecond laser facility in KFUPM in the field of Ultrafast Mid-IR Transient Absorption Spectroscopy. The proposed project is mainly about integrating and operating the fs-TA in the mid-IR region for investigating surfactants dynamics in agueous and organic phases, especially those related to upstream petroleum industry. The postdoc position duration can be potentially up to 3 years.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Chemical physics, Physics, chemistry or related topics (if the PhD is not required by the date of application, a defense date should be given that is not more than six months from the application time)
  • The PhD degree should be obtained from a highly ranked university, top 100 (the candidate should provide proof from any standard web sites that evaluate the university’s performance)
  • Hands-on experience with building transient absorption optical setups
  • Strong background in excited state chemical dynamics
  • Experience with data analysis programs such as Matlab, Origin. LabVIEW is a plus
  • Track records in writing publications, patents or grants
