Eligibility/Qualification:
- Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D. or equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the near future) in Physics or closely related fields.
- Proven track record in experimental atomic, molecular, and optical physics.
- Experience with ultracold gases and/or tabletop searches for new physics is strongly desirable.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Work within a small team of PhD and post-doctoral researchers to develop SBECs as detectors of hypothesized new forces.
- Investigate the detection of axions and axion-like particles (ALPs) through short-range monopole-dipole forces using SBEC magnetometer technologies.
- Leverage SBECs’ extraordinary coherence, compactness, and systematic clarity for advancing the frontier of fundamental physics experiments.
