Post-doctoral Position in Science and Technology of Moiré Quantum Matter
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Quantum Materials, Twisted Quantum Matter, Two-Dimensional Correlated Electron Systems, Superconductivity, Photodetection, and Strong Light-Matter Interactions.
Location: ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences, Spain
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. (or nearing completion) in Physics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or a related field.
- Proven track record in 2D materials, heterostructures, and moiré systems.
- Experience with relevant tools such as cryostats, cryogenic scanning near-field microscopy, optical quantum twist microscopy, and scanning tunneling microscopy is an advantage.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will work within the QTWIST program, engaging in cutting-edge research on twisted quantum materials and two-dimensional electron systems. The research will explore fundamental and applied aspects of moiré quantum matter, superconductivity, and quantum technologies, with potential applications in single-photon detection and advanced functional devices. The role includes:
- Conducting experimental and theoretical research on advanced van der Waals materials and correlated electron systems.
- Utilizing state-of-the-art tools for material characterization and quantum measurements.
- Collaborating with an international team, including laboratories at MIT and ICFO.
