Post-doctoral Position in Virus-Vector Ecology: The Arthropod Disease Vector Biology lab at IMBB-FORTH, under the leadership of Dr. Michail Kotsyfakis, invites applications for a Post-doctoral Researcher to work on the newly funded EU HORIZON project “Resilience Enhancement for Ticks and Tick-Borne Diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa (ResTick).” The project investigates ecological dynamics of zoonotic viruses and their vectors, focusing particularly on CCHFV and Hyalomma spp. ticks.

Eligibility / Qualifications
Required:
- PhD in Nanoscience, Biotechnology, or related Life Sciences
- MSc in Biotechnology, Nanoscience, or equivalent
- Proven experience in nanoparticle synthesis, vertebrate biology, and molecular biology at international institutes
- Research publications in high-impact journals (including journals with IF >6 and IF >30)
- Excellent oral and written English skills
Desirable:
- Experience in nanoparticle formulation, microscopy (live imaging, immunofluorescence)
- Animal handling and experimental protocols (BALB/c mice; IP/IV/oral delivery)
- Ability to start within 2 months of offer
Job Description
The selected candidate will:
- Conduct field and lab research on tick-virus ecology
- Collect and analyze tick populations
- Use molecular and bioanalytical tools to explore virus-vector-host-environment interactions
- Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team of chemists and biologists
- Supervise junior researchers and contribute to grant writing and dissemination activities
