Eligibility/Qualification
- Required:
- PhD in Biology, Earth Science, Marine Science, or a related field by the time of hire.
- Strong background in coral physiology, isotope biogeochemistry, image analysis, univariate and multivariate statistics.
- Advanced scuba training (minimum Advanced and Rescue Diver).
- Desired:
- Record of first-authored publications and grant funding.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience with laboratory and field equipment relevant to the research.
Job Description
The candidate will be involved in:
- Conducting laboratory and underwater fieldwork.
- Leading fieldwork projects.
- Preparing and submitting two manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals annually.
- Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
- Presenting research at scientific conferences.
- Participating in career development workshops.
Work may include field trips to locations such as Florida, Saudi Arabia, or Hawaii for up to four weeks twice a year and travel to a scientific conference.
