Post-Doctoral Research Associate: The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our Vector Biology Department. This role involves contributing to innovative research focused on vector-borne diseases, particularly the evolution of insecticide resistance. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team and engage in international collaborations.

Location: Liverpool, United Kingdom (with international travel to Uganda and Kenya)
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Biology, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, Ecology, or Genomics.
- Significant experience in molecular biology is preferred.
- Knowledge of next-generation sequencing technologies is advantageous.
- Familiarity with epidemiology, data management, and bioinformatics.
- Evidence of preparing publications for peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Applying evolutionary genetic approaches to study disease vectors.
- Designing and implementing transcriptomic and genomic studies for Anopheles mosquitoes.
- Supporting and supervising students and technical staff within the research team.
- Creating training materials and providing training in molecular and analytical techniques.
- Assisting in the design and supervision of PhD projects.
- Mentoring and supporting staff and students with data analysis.
- Generating ideas and data for new project applications.
- Contributing to research grant proposals and peer-reviewed publications.
- Disseminating research findings at conferences.
