Location:
Department of Biosystems Engineering and Soil Science (BESS), University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN. The postdoc will be supervised by Drs. Sindhu Jagadamma (Jagadamma Lab) in BESS and Elizabeth Herndon (Herndon Profile) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Soil Science, Environmental Science, Soil Ecology, Soil Microbiology, Soil Geochemistry, or closely related field.
- Candidates currently pursuing a Ph.D. will be considered, but the degree must be conferred prior to the date of hire and no later than fall 2023.
- Demonstrated experience with soil biogeochemical processes and peer-reviewed publications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent work ethic, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Interest in training undergraduate and graduate students.
- Demonstrated skills in analytical instrumentations.
- Valid driver’s license.
Job Description: The postdoc will be involved in extensive field and lab experiments, statistical data analysis, review/meta-analysis, report and scientific article preparation, and presentation of research findings at professional meetings. The position is dependent on continued funding.
