Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Volcanology or a related field
- Strong background in empirical field studies, numerical and analogue modeling, and computational approaches
- Experience in analyzing volcanic successions and particle transport in analogue experiments
Job Description: As a Post Doctoral Research Associate, you will:
- Develop new methodologies for analyzing volcanic successions
- Utilize state-of-the-art experimental techniques to quantify particle transport in analogue experiments
- Work closely with PI Dr. Rebecca Williams on the NERC-funded project ‘FIAMME’
- Collaborate with a global network of experts in pyroclastic density current (PDC) analysis
- Contribute to the systematic collection of quantitative data from field studies of natural PDCs
- Pilot a new method for extracting internal velocity fields in experimental pyroclastic density current analogues
