Eligibility/Qualification

  • Ph.D. in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Photonics, Numerical Mathematics, or Scientific Computing.
  • Required skills:
  • Computational Electromagnetics
  • Finite Element Methods for PDEs
  • Numerical Optimization
  • Proficiency in Python and Fortran 2003, Parallel Programming with MPI and OpenMP
  • Strong knowledge of nanophotonics and metasurface design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Job Description

The postdoctoral project will focus on:

  1. Active and Dynamically Tunable Metasurfaces:
  • Exploration of advanced materials such as liquid crystals for dynamic modeling.
  1. Nonlinear Metasurfaces:
  • Investigating modeling techniques for second-harmonic generation and wave mixing.

Key activities will include:

  • Adapting numerical methods in the DIOGENeS software suite.
  • Setting up inverse design workflows based on the EGO optimization algorithm.
  • Collaborating with experimental physicists for the fabrication and characterization of metasurfaces.
