Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in mechanical design is advantageous.
  • Strong background in viscoelastic and viscoplastic modeling.
  • Excellent research skills and ability to work independently.
  • Competence in integrating software for solids mechanics models.
  • Ability to engage with industry partners for knowledge exchange activities.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will work on a UKRI-funded project, Mor-Neidr, concentrating on developing experimentally validated computational models for soft polymers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting independent research and developing new experimental setups for viscoelastic polymers.
  • Merging computational frameworks for Solids Mechanics and Fluid Mechanics.
  • Collaborating closely with project leaders and industry partners.
  • Developing a new test rig for soft material components.
