Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Educational Requirements: Ph.D. in Physical Science, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science
  • Preferred Skills: Specialized training or experience in computer languages such as Python, R, or other programming languages

Job Description:

Post-Doctoral Research Program – Satellite Water Quality Modeling and Forecasting

The selected candidate will focus on:

  • Developing national models for forecasting freshwater harmful cyanobacteria blooms and seagrass habitat change
  • Utilizing Bayesian spatio-temporal methods, machine learning, or neural networks for forecasting
  • Working with satellite data from the Cyanobacteria Assessment Network and NASA Commercial Smallsat Data Acquisition Program
  • Collaborating with federal agencies and academic universities
  • Participating in a multidisciplinary team and presenting research findings at scientific conferences and stakeholder engagement meetings
