Post-doctoral Researcher – Advanced Cell: The Cardiovascular Biology Laboratory at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering (ICGEB) is seeking a highly motivated Post-doctoral Researcher to contribute to Project “COHERENCE,” an advanced platform for cell therapy development. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with clinicians and biomedical companies to foster innovation in treatments for non-healing wounds.

Designation: Post-doctoral Researcher

Research Area: Cardiovascular Biology, Cell Therapy, Biomedical Research

Location: International Centre for Genetic Engineering (ICGEB), Italy

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Degree in Biology or related scientific fields
  • Hands-on experience in cellular and molecular biology techniques
  • Fluent spoken and written English (Italian and Slovenian are a plus)
  • Highly motivated, collaborative, and proficient in interacting with clinicians and industry collaborators
  • Previous experience in primary cell use and biological therapies for cardiovascular diseases is an asset

Job Description:

  • Conduct research on developing cell therapy products for treating non-healing wounds
  • Collaborate with academic institutions, hospitals, and biomedical industries across Italy and Slovenia
  • Contribute to an open platform guiding researchers on compliance with local and international regulations in cell therapy
  • Work within a stimulating international research environment
