Post-Doctoral Researcher: APC Microbiome: The Nagpal Lab at APC Microbiome Ireland and School of Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher. This position, co-supervised by Dr. Jatin Nagpal and Prof. John F. Cryan, offers an exciting opportunity to conduct innovative research on understanding the impact of microbiota on neurodevelopment and stress and social behavior using zebrafish as a model system.

Location: University College Cork, Ireland
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, or related field
- Experience with zebrafish as a model system is desirable
- Strong background in molecular biology techniques such as genomics and metabolomics
- Proficiency in behavior analysis, immunofluorescence, optogenetics, and microscopy is advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Job Description:
- Conduct innovative research on the role of early-life microbiome in shaping stress-social neural circuits in zebrafish
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neuroscientists, bioinformaticians, psychologists, and nutritionists
- Utilize techniques such as zebrafish microbiota manipulation, molecular biology, behavior analysis, and microscopy
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Assist in the supervision of graduate and undergraduate students
