Job Description:
Post-Doctoral Researcher: CRISPR-based tools for genome-scale screening in non-conventional yeasts
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing advanced CRISPR/Cas-based tools for genome-scale screening in non-conventional yeasts. This will involve both experimental work, including technology development and application in high-throughput screens, as well as computational aspects such as CRISPR library design and analysis of Illumina barcode sequencing data. The research will be conducted within a multidisciplinary environment that combines high-throughput genome editing, state-of-the-art genomics methods, and computational biology.
How to Apply: To apply, please submit your application through the VIB application tool (email applications will not be considered). Make sure your application includes the following documents:
- Detailed CV
- 1-page letter of intent describing how your research experiences and interests align with the lab
- Names and contact details of 2-3 references

About the Lab | Center | VIB-KU Leuven Center for Microbiology | | Lab | Sibylle Vonesch Lab | | Description | Research at the VIB-KU Leuven Center for Microbiology (CfM) aims to increase our basic understanding of microbes and higher organisms and translate this knowledge into environmental, industrial, and medical applications and new innovative biotech companies. The Laboratory for Genome Editing and System Genetics at CfM combines development of cutting-edge genome editing technologies with applications that advance our understanding of how genotype determines phenotype. By providing a direct link between sequence and function, at unprecedented scale, these technologies allow us to gain new insights into how genome variation impacts phenotype and enable massively scaled screens to accelerate construction of designer strains in biotechnology and synthetic biology.
