Position Details

Research Area

The project aims to advance knowledge of CHEGD fungi—key indicators of semi-natural grasslands—by integrating mushroom inventories and DNA-barcoding with stable isotope field experiments, genomics, and potential transcriptomics to understand their ecology and aid conservation.

Job Description

  • Drive independent research, including the development and execution of field and laboratory experiments.
  • Perform advanced data analysis, including statistical modeling and fungal community analysis.
  • Collaborate with the internal project group and external partners.
  • Prepare and publish high-quality scientific papers.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in fungal ecology, mycology, microbiology, biology, or a related field (ideally awarded within the last three years).
  • Technical Skills: Experience with microbial/fungal ecology, field/lab experiments, genomics/transcriptomics, and multivariate statistical modeling.
  • Assets: Programming skills (R or Python), experience with fieldwork, and a driving license.
  • Competencies: Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, strong collaborative ability, independence, and scientific accuracy.
