Post-Doctoral Researcher in Mycobacterial Genetics: A 2-year post-doctoral position is available in the group of Laurent KREMER at the Institut de Recherche en Infectiologie de Montpellier, France. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Mycobacterial Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • Proven experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Background in mycobacterial genetics or biochemistry.
  • Experience in zebrafish manipulation is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work on a project aimed at developing novel antibiotics against NTMs, specifically focusing on:

  • Validating the mode of action of Tricyclic-Spirolactams (TriSLa) by generating (conditional) mutants in NTMs.
  • Evaluating the efficacy of pharmacologically optimized TriSLa in a zebrafish model of infection.
  • Collaborating with a consortium of experts in mycobacteriology, bacterial genetics, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and animal models.
  • Utilizing a rich multidisciplinary environment and access to various experimental approaches and core facilities.
