Eligibility/Qualifications:
Required:
- BSc in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or relevant fields
- Lab experience with molecular diagnostic assays
- Excellent oral and written English
- Ability to start within the next 2 months
Desired:
- Experience in isothermal amplification techniques
- Skills in primer/probe design for molecular assays
- Solid publication record in relevant diagnostics research
- Ability to work independently and supervise junior researchers
Job Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Develop molecular diagnostic assays targeting emerging and regionally relevant pathogens
- Focus on amplification and detection techniques suitable for point-of-care use
- Collaborate with international academic and industrial partners in Greece and Portugal
- Join a multidisciplinary team working on biosensing and diagnostic innovation
- Contribute to publications, presentations, and scientific dissemination
- Engage in technology transfer activities and research communication
