Eligibility/Qualification:

Required:

  • PhD in molecular biology, biotechnology, or closely related fields.
  • BSc in molecular biology, chemistry, biotechnology, or relevant field.
  • Laboratory experience in molecular diagnostic assays.
  • Excellent oral and written English.
  • Availability to start within 2 months.

Desired:

  • Hands-on experience with isothermal amplification techniques.
  • Proficiency in designing primers, probes, etc.
  • Strong publication record in diagnostics.
  • Ability to supervise junior researchers and work independently.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will:

  • Design molecular assays for detecting pathogens (e.g., SARS, arboviruses).
  • Utilize rapid, cost-effective techniques for point-of-care settings.
  • Collaborate with academic and industrial partners in Greece and Portugal.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary research and technology transfer.
  • Participate in dissemination activities, scientific writing, and presentations.
