Eligibility/Qualification: Suitable candidates must hold a Ph.D. in environmental science or agriculture, with a good knowledge of, or a strong interest in sustainability or crop production, particularly in paludiculture (wet farming) systems. Expertise in socioeconomics, agriculture, and data science/analysis, or a significant interest in these areas, is also required. Candidates should have evidence of research experience, including relevant publications in the field.
Job Description: The Post-doctoral Researcher will be part of an exciting initiative by the University to expand current research into mapping natural capital opportunities and ecosystem services, focusing on mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, and nutrient management. The role involves collating diverse data related to hydrology, biodiversity, soil, nutrient mitigation, farm infrastructure, and business (socioeconomics). The successful candidate will collect hydrological data and analyze soil samples in the field and laboratory, identifying opportunities for monetizing natural capital and ecosystem services while maintaining productivity. Collaboration with a diverse academic group and effective communication with industry stakeholders are essential. The postholder will also present findings at industry and academic meetings and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
