Post-Doctoral Researcher Position in MOFs BCMaterials is seeking a dedicated post-doctoral researcher to contribute to the innovative field of Conductive Metal-Organic Frameworks (cMOFs). These materials exhibit exceptional properties, including high electrical conductivity, significant surface area, and electroactive sites, with promising applications in supercapacitors and electrochemical sensors. However, challenges remain, such as limited structural variety, impurities, and suboptimal 2D geometry. We are looking for a talented researcher to develop highly conductive 3D MOFs and clean synthetic methods, paving the way for widespread industrial applications.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in chemistry, material science, chemical engineering (completed or to be completed within this academic year).
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in MOF materials synthesis and/or conductive organic/inorganic materials.
  • Proficiency in material, conductivity, magnetic, and electrochemical characterization techniques.
  • Ability to work in an international research environment.
  • Spanish language knowledge is advantageous.

Job Description

Development of Synthetic and Characterization Pathways for 3D Conductive MOFs

As a post-doctoral researcher, you will focus on synthesizing and characterizing novel materials with 3D structures to enhance electron conductivity. This involves designing MOF structures with various ligands to optimize porous materials with conductive backbones. The selected candidates will then synthesize these materials, develop protocols for high crystallinity and material purity, and conduct comprehensive structural, stability, and surface area assessments. The primary focus will be on conductivity and electrochemical studies, gaining insights into material behavior under various conditions and understanding the conductivity mechanism, reliability, chemical robustness, and mechanical resilience.
