Job Description: The Post-Doctoral Scholar will:
- Conduct research on molecular detection of fungal/oomycete plant pathogens.
- Characterize fungal and oomycete populations in greenhouse and nursery crops.
- Evaluate the effect of best management practices on pathogen community composition.
- Engage in disease diagnostics and develop molecular tools for pathogen quantification.
- Interact with growers, present at meetings, and assist with lab management.

Junior Specialist Position:
The Del Castillo lab is also hiring a Junior Specialist. This position provides technical or specialized expertise in a focused area, supporting research projects. The Specialist will contribute to the planning and execution of research, staying updated on emerging issues, and maintaining technical competence. While not having Principal Investigator status, the Specialist is expected to collaborate, provide leadership, and facilitate teamwork within the defined specialization area. Evaluation for merit and promotion will be based on outlined criteria.
