Postdoc and PhD Positions: Join our team in the SFB Polygenic Adaptation project, where we investigate various aspects of polygenic adaptation. We have openings for both postdoctoral and PhD positions, collaborating with renowned researchers in the field. The project involves evolutionary modeling, studying the genetics of local adaptation, characterizing the adaptive architecture of polygenic traits, and analyzing genomic and phenotypic patterns of adaptation in large populations.
Designation:
- Postdoctoral Positions
- PhD Positions
Research Area: Polygenic Adaptation
Location: Various institutions in Vienna, Austria
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Postdoc Positions: Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, with expertise in evolutionary modeling, genetics of local adaptation, or related areas.
- PhD Positions: Applicants should have a strong academic background in genetics, evolutionary biology, or a related discipline.
Job Description:
- Postdoc Positions: Collaborate with Joachim Hermisson, Himani Sachdeva (University of Vienna), and Magnus Nordborg (Gregor Mendel Institute) on various aspects of polygenic adaptation, including evolutionary modeling and the genetics of local adaptation.
- PhD Positions: Work with Neda Barghi, Robert Kofler, and Christian Schlötterer (Vetmeduni Vienna) to study the adaptive architecture of polygenic traits, analyze genetic and adaptive architectures, investigate body size variation through experimental evolution, understand polygenic adaptation with reduced genetic variation, and explore the role of non-additive effects and genotype x environment interactions in adaptive responses.
How to Apply: Interested candidates should apply by the application deadline, June 04, 2023. Specific application instructions can be found on the respective project websites:
- Postdoc Positions: Contact Joachim Hermisson, Himani Sachdeva, or Magnus Nordborg directly.
- PhD Positions: Visit the Vetmeduni Vienna website for application details and contact Neda Barghi, Robert Kofler, or Christian Schlötterer for further information.
Last Date for Apply: June 04, 2023
