Postdoc Candidates in Computational Biology: The Nilsson lab at Lund University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in computational genomics to join the ERC-funded project BloodVariome. The project aims to discover DNA sequence variants and genes that govern blood and immune cell formation in humans. The successful candidate will work with an unprecedented set of immunophenotype data and genome-wide genotype data for close to 30,000 individuals.

Qualifications/Eligibility: The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant area (e.g., bioinformatics, applied mathematics, or computer science) obtained no more than three years before the application deadline (May 2nd, 2023). The successful candidate should have solid programming skills, experience with high-performance or cloud computing, and desirable experience with machine learning and/or genomics. Strong communication and collaboration skills are also required.

Job Description: The successful candidate will work on analyzing the data generated by the BloodVariome project and develop new computational methods to identify DNA sequence variants and genes that regulate blood and immune cell formation in humans. The candidate will be responsible for data processing, quality control, and analysis. The candidate will also be involved in the development and implementation of new algorithms and statistical methods to analyze the data.
