Eligibility / Qualification
Applicants must possess:
- A PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Production Engineering, or a closely related discipline (or a letter from their promotor indicating when the dissertation will be completed).
- Strong expertise in materials, computational simulation, AI/ML, or manufacturing process engineering.
- Practical experience working with both plastics and metals.
- An independent, creative mindset alongside strong collaborative skills.
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- English Language Proof: IELTS academic = 6.5, TOEFL computer-based = 237, or TOEFL internet-based = 92.
Job Description (What you are going to do)
- Plan and execute experiments to characterize material behavior and processing effects across plastics and selected metals.
- Identify and mitigate batch-to-batch material differences to ensure process reproducibility.
- Curate, structure, and annotate high-quality datasets optimized for simulations and machine learning.
- Develop Digital Twins and simulation pipelines for virtual validation and predictive performance assessments.
- Implement AI and data-driven methods to connect material properties, processing windows, performance targets, and circularity indicators.
- Collaborate across disciplines with experimentalists, computational engineers, and data scientists to translate laboratory results into validated digital tools.
- Document and share research findings through technical reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
