Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Proven track record in one or more of the following areas: computational retrobiosynthesis/pathway modeling, bioprocess modeling, or multi-omics data analysis and integration.
- Familiarity with statistical data analysis and relevant computational tools and libraries in Python and/or R.
- Ideally experience with advanced data science methods (e.g., CNNs, Transformers) and relevant technical tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research environment.
Job Description:
As a Systems Biologist at BASF, you will:
- Develop and apply methods for modeling biological systems related to industrial biotechnology, toxicology, biodegradation, and agriculture.
- Extract meaningful insights from analytics and effectively communicate results to project partners.
- Collaborate with diverse teams and provide guidance on experimental planning and data processing/analysis.
- Facilitate the development of computational tools for scientist use through applications and dashboards.
- Stay updated with advancements in systems biology including AI, graph methodologies, and optimization techniques.
