Postdoc – Computational Epigenomics at Helmholtz : The Helmholtz Pioneer Campus (HPC) at Helmholtz Munich is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the 3D Genome and Molecular Neuroscience group headed by Dr. Boyan Bonev. The successful candidate will contribute to a project funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant, focusing on the epigenetic mechanisms of gene regulation during development. The research will involve the analysis of high-throughput next-generation sequencing data, development of novel methods for data integration, and training deep neural networks. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge research and contribute to publications, grant proposals, and international conferences.
Designation: Postdoc – Computational Epigenomics (f/m/x)
Research Area: In a relevant discipline (Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Life Science, etc.)
Location: Helmholtz Pioneer Campus, Martinsried, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in a relevant discipline (Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Life Science, etc.)
- Expertise in regulatory genomics analyses and integrative analysis of experimental datasets (e.g., RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, DNA methylation, chromatin accessibility, 3D Genome)
- Strong publication record demonstrating independence
- Programming experience in at least one language (preferably R or Python) and familiarity with data processing pipelines
- Experience in analyzing high-throughput sequencing data and statistical modeling of high-dimensional data
- Familiarity with single-cell datasets (scRNA, scATAC) and deep learning is preferred but not required
Job Description: The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for analyzing high-throughput next-generation sequencing data, developing innovative methods for integrating epigenetic data across modalities and species, and working with state-of-the-art data modeling and deep neural networks. The candidate will also supervise student projects at various levels, write reports and research articles, prepare grant proposals, and actively participate in international conferences and workshops. Additionally, the candidate will maintain and integrate the high-performance cluster available at the Bonev lab.
