Postdoc – Costs of Greenhouse: Join our team at Agroscope, the Swiss federal center of excellence for research in agriculture and food, as a Postdoc in the field of greenhouse gas mitigation in the agricultural sector. This research project aims to evaluate the economic dimensions of greenhouse gas mitigation measures, including carbon sequestration and agroforestry, in Switzerland. You will be responsible for conducting a literature review, data preparation, calculating mitigation potentials, and contributing to scientific publications and international conferences. Location: Agroscope, Reckenholz, Zurich, Switzerland

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Natural, Agricultural, or Environmental Sciences
  • Experience in greenhouse gas emissions of the agricultural sector
  • Knowledge of process-based or agro-economic models is advantageous
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in two official Swiss languages (German, French, or Italian)
  • Very good command of spoken and written English

Postdoc – Costs of Greenhouse Gas Mitigation Measures in the Swiss Agricultural Sector

As a Postdoc, your tasks will include:

  • Conducting a literature review on the costs of greenhouse gas mitigation measures
  • Data preparation and implementation of costs in the Swiss land and agro-economic model
  • Calculation of total greenhouse gas mitigation potentials, including carbon sequestration
  • Drafting scientific publications and presenting research findings at international conferences
