Postdoc for Computer Vision and Deep Learning Applied to Biodiversity Monitoring
The postdoc will focus on advancing image-based methods for biodiversity monitoring, specifically quantifying insect abundance, diversity, and biomass using deep learning models. The project involves working on data from insect camera traps, building efficient pipelines for localizing insects against diverse backgrounds, and incorporating taxonomic identification methods. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and testing new insect camera traps with edge computing capabilities are integral components of the role.
