Research Area

This position focuses on advancing the understanding and techniques involved in gas fermentation technology, specifically the biological conversion of CO2 to acetic acid, utilizing Trickle Bed Reactors at lab and pilot scale.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting biological conversion of CO2 to acetic acid in Trickle Bed Reactors.
  • Kinetic characterization of microbial groups involved in CO2 fermentation.
  • Participating in a couple of months’ external stay at the industrial partner’s facilities.
  • Communicating research findings to academia and industry partners.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across various disciplines.
  • Co-supervising undergraduate and master’s students.
  • Drafting and submitting research manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.

Eligibility/Qualification

Candidates should possess:

  • A PhD degree (or equivalent) in a related field.
  • Experience with anaerobic microbial cultures and bioreactor operation.
  • A documented background in gas fermentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
