Postdoc in Cardiogenetics: We are seeking a creative and dedicated postdoc with expertise in complex or statistical genetics for an innovative 4-year project at UMC Utrecht. This role will focus on studying the genetics of cardiovascular diseases using large-scale data to uncover genes and pathways that could serve as potential drug targets or biomarkers.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in genetics, statistics, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • In-depth experience working with and analyzing (complex) genetic data.
  • Familiarity with software such as PLINK, REGENIE, Python, and R.
  • Experience with command-line environments (e.g., Bash).
  • Knowledge of working with large-scale cohorts such as UK Biobank or All of Us is desirable.
  • Fluency in English, with strong presentation and writing skills.

Job Description:

As a postdoc in the Cardiogenetics program, you will work within the NextGen consortium, focusing on identifying genes and biological pathways involved in cardiovascular disease. You will utilize a combination of in-house deep-phenotyped data and large external cohorts to perform extensive data analysis. Collaborating closely with bioinformaticians and other interdisciplinary teams, you will have the opportunity to contribute to significant research advancements aimed at improving diagnosis and treatment approaches for cardiovascular diseases.
