Job Description
The Postdoc will be responsible for building the scientific foundation for Swedish nitrocellulose within the Svenskt Krut competence centre. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and validating methods for key properties of nitrocellulose, such as degree of substitution, molecular weight and molecular-weight distribution, moisture and residual-acid content, and stability and energy content.
- Leading a comparative measurement study (round-robin) between KTH, FOI, and industry.
- Continuously characterising NC batches for a shared sample bank.
- Building a reference database.
- Utilising AI-supported data analysis to compare qualities and identify deviations.
The work will be carried out at the Department of Fibre and Polymer Technology at KTH, in close collaboration with FOI, including at least one longer stay there. The position is a time-limited qualified appointment, primarily focused on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation. The employment duration is for a maximum of two years.
