Postdoc in Computational Biology: The Department of Molecular Medicine at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is seeking applications for a Postdoc position in Computational Biology. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in multidisciplinary research focused on genomics, bioinformatics, and AI-driven systems modeling to unravel the molecular mechanisms of cellular aging and resilience.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in analyzing single-cell or spatial omics datasets.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or R.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with graph-based AI models, multi-omics data integration, or network inference.
  • Background in epigenomics, gene regulation, or aging biology.
  • Interest in applying AI to biological systems and contributing to data-driven hypothesis generation.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based computational environments or high-performance computing clusters.

Job Description:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing analytical pipelines for large-scale single-cell, spatial, and multi-omics data integration.
  • Building and applying machine learning and AI-based models to identify key regulatory networks related to inflammation, aging, and regeneration.
  • Collaborating closely with experimental biologists, clinicians, and computational partners both in Denmark and internationally.
  • Contributing to scientific publications, conference presentations, and supervising students.
  • Participating in collaborative grant proposals and interdisciplinary project development.
