Eligibility/Qualification
Essential Experience and Skills:
- Completed PhD degree in bioinformatics, computer science, or a related area
- Highly experienced in Python
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix environment and shell scripting
- Proficient communication skills with excellent English (written and spoken)
- Empathetic and a strong team player
Desirable Experience and Skills:
- Knowledge in virology
- Familiarity with RNA folding and RNA-RNA interaction algorithms
- Familiarity with biological networks
- Knowledge of C++/C programming
Job Description
As a postdoc at SUND, your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing bioinformatics methods from design to implementation
- Collecting and analyzing viral genomic and host-virus transcriptomic data
- Applying computational tools within the framework of the national Danish swine and avian influenza surveillance data
- Exploring further possibilities for improving computational methods and modeling
- Teaching and disseminating knowledge within the research community
