PostDoc in Artificial Intelligence in Genomics for Drug Discovery (f/m/d)

Location: Berlin Institute of Health at Charité (BIH), Berlin, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Data Science (deep learning), genetic epidemiology, clinical pharmacology, or a related discipline
  • Proven track record of scientific publications
  • Extensive experience in deep learning techniques applied to genetic or clinical questions, genome-scale association analyses, open-access web platform development, or pharmacogenomics
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R or Python in HPC or cloud environments
  • Aptitude for biological inference and clinical translation
  • Desirable skills: Protein structural modeling, pharmacogenetics, Bayesian statistics, cloud computing services, electronic health record linkage
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing)

Job Description:

  • Integrate different types of ‘omic’ data for causal interference and drug target prioritization
  • Implement genetically informed knowledge graphs synthesizing genetic association studies with drug targets’ cellular context
  • Develop deep learning-based algorithms for drug-disease link prediction and mining electronic health records
  • Create an open-access web application to disseminate findings to a clinical audience
  • Train and co-supervise Master or PhD students in molecular epidemiology/deep learning techniques
  • Prepare scientific publications
