Job Description:

This postdoctoral position focuses on designing innovative integrated seawater desalination and electrolyzer plants. The role entails optimizing energy and water resources while overcoming the technical limitations and operational costs associated with hydrogen production through electrolysis. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing state-of-the-art engineering optimization models using mixed integer linear programming methodologies.
  • Focusing on brine treatment to eliminate desalination brine effluent, and improving heat integration between the electrolyzer and desalination processes.
  • Evaluating various desalination techniques and their integration with different scales of electrolysis systems (from 20 MW to 1 GW).
  • Assessing the dynamic performance of integrated systems to enhance overall flexibility and efficiency in energy consumption.

You will collaborate with internationally renowned researchers and contribute to interdisciplinary work within the department.
