Summary
Aarhus University invites applications for a Postdoctoral position in Kidney Receptor Biology at the Department of Biomedicine. This two-year, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research focusing on the molecular mechanisms of receptor function in the kidney, with a particular emphasis on megalin.
Designation
Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area
- Kidney Receptor Biology
- Molecular mechanisms of megalin function
- Protein trafficking and degradation
- Renal physiology and pathophysiology
Location
Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University, Denmark
Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
- Strong background in protein biochemistry, cell culture, molecular cloning, and microscopy.
- Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, proteomics, or in vivo kidney models is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A proven publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
Job Description
The successful candidate will join a dynamic research group investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying receptor function in the kidney, particularly the endocytic receptor megalin. The project aims to elucidate how megalin contributes to renal physiology and how its dysfunction can lead to kidney diseases. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and conducting experiments using advanced molecular and cell biology techniques.
- Analyzing and interpreting experimental data.
- Preparing manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
- Presenting research findings at national and international conferences.
- Contributing to grant applications and project reports.
- Mentoring junior researchers and students.
How to Apply
Applicants must submit their application online through Aarhus University’s recruitment system. The application package should include:
- A detailed curriculum vitae (CV).
- A cover letter outlining research interests, qualifications, and motivation for applying (max. 2 pages).
- A complete list of publications.
- Copies of PhD diploma and academic transcripts.
