Research Area:

The research will focus on greenhouse gas dynamics within seagrass meadows, investigating how leaf epiphytes impact ecosystem functions under environmental stress.


Location:

Roskilde University, Denmark


Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent focusing on sediment biogeochemistry, greenhouse gas dynamics, or molecular ecology within seagrass ecosystems.
  • Prior publications within molecular ecology and/or greenhouse gas fluxes of seagrass meadows are required.
  • Experience with electrochemical microsensors, greenhouse gas analyzers, chemical imaging, and DNA sequencing will be considered an advantage.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead aspects of the research project.
  • Investigate biogeochemical processes in anoxic epiphytic biofilms.
  • Analyze carbon fixation and greenhouse gas emissions related to seagrass decomposition.
  • Mentor PhD students involved in the research project.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) in English.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • A solid record of peer-reviewed publications.
